Our next reunion - 35th

It looks like we are more or less organised for the day.......

Option 1 - 1100 sharp

Meet at reception of the Accident & Emergency dept. at RLH for a tour of the department with Sister Lucy Thompson

Option 2 - 1100 onwards

Meet in The Blind Beggar Pub
(turn left out of Whitechapel Station, walk down to the junction with Cambridge Heath Road)

1230 sharp

Table booked for lunch at The Passage to India
(49 Mile End Road - past the Blind Beggar & about 300 yards on the same side. If you get to the Cinema you've gone way too far)

Rationale (!!)

  • It's a reunion about being together in Whitechapel
  • You're going to be there
  • Best curry (no need to read the reviews)
  • Serves food at lunchtime on the weekend (which is handy)
  • All within easy walking distance (now we're older)
  • Fab location (near to RLH, MEH & the site of BGH)
  • Definitely an area you explored as a student (see the changes)
  • Nearest tube - Whitechapel

1400 onwards

Then a tour of the outside of the Hospital and the School of Nursing. Opportunity to take lots of photos of buildings and more importantly - of each other

1500 sharp

John Ellis Lecture Theatre in the basement of Royal London Hospital. Presentation about the  RLH (refreshments provided) and a tour of the hospital. This event is hosted by Charlie Sheldon, Deputy Director of Nursing for Barts & the London NHS Trust (BLT)

1700 onwards

A stroll down to Mile End Hospital, followed by a walk back to Whitechapel and a drink somewhere suitable (The LH Tavern, now Urban Bar or the Good Sams on Stepney Way)

Evening

There appears to be several of us staying on for the evening and staying overnight. Are you able to join us too? We can now sort out what we would like to do.
