Where are they now?

Roy, our girls and myself moved to New Zealand in 2002, as we decided we needed change of scenery. We now live in Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty overlooking the mountains on one side of the house and the ocean on the other. We are enjoying the experience and 5 years on are still here. NZ is nothing like the UK and a lot of English people head back to the UK when they realise just how different it is; something you don't really appreciate until you actually live here. 

We have completely changed our whole life style and live a lot simpler life, enjoying relaxed weekends camping, walking and even kayaking, things that would have filled me with dread in the U.K. I nursed when I first arrived here, but then got a job teaching in a primary school, so as always I continue to spend time either nursing or teaching. This seems to have been the story of my career and so far, it has worked very well for me.

My daughter Lizzie, who is now 20 is the one from the lst reunion pictures. She was a bridesmaid for a friend at a really lovely wedding a few weeks ago. It was fabulous, every one turned up wearing what ever they felt like. The wedding took place on the slopes of a near by mountain with a few hundred sheep watching and also anyone else who happened to be passing by.

My other daughter Fiona is now 17 and in her final year at college, both girls have settled really well here and seem to be enjoying the life style that NZ. offers.

I remain happily married to Roy who's main claim to fame, apart from marrying me, is that he holds the Guinness Book of Records for the biggest Pike caught in Britain at Llandegfedd reservoir, Wales in 1992.
